Vanta Privacy Policy

Vanta ("we", "us") is made by OneNine Design LLC. This policy explains what Vanta collects, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Phone number. Used only to sign you in with a one-time text code. We don't send marketing texts.

Your name. The name you enter is shown to members of crews you join.

Location.

• For directions: your location and destination are sent to our routing provider (Google Maps Platform) to calculate routes. We don't store your destinations on our servers. Recent and saved places stay on your phone.
• Drive together: when you switch on Drive together for a crew, your position, current road and speed are shared with crew members who also have it switched on. It turns off when you switch it off or after 8 hours. Your latest position is deleted within an hour of you stopping; crew speed readings are deleted after 2 hours. Your destination is never shared.
• Community traffic (on by default, can be turned off): while you drive, Vanta sends anonymous speed readings (location, direction, speed) with no name, account or device identifier. Raw readings are deleted after an hour. They are also folded into anonymous averages of how busy each stretch of road usually is at each time of week, which contain no information about who contributed.

Road reports. Police and hazard reports you make, and your yes/no confirmations, are stored with their location so other drivers can be warned. They expire automatically. Rate limiting uses a scrambled (hashed) install identifier, not your account.

Walkie-talkie voice clips. When you hold the Talk button while driving together, your recording is sent to crew members who have Drive together on. Clips are listed for one hour and deleted after a day.

Car requests. If you ask us to add a car to Curve Insights, we store the make, model, year and any note you include.

Motion. Vanta uses your phone's motion sensors on the device to tell when you start and stop driving. Motion data isn't sent to us.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't use your data for advertising or track you across other apps or websites.
• We don't share your location with anyone except crew members you've chosen to drive with, and in anonymous form as described above.

Who processes data for us

• Supabase hosts our database, sign-in and voice clip storage.
• Twilio sends sign-in codes.
• Google Maps Platform calculates routes and traffic.
• Apple provides maps and the App Store.

Your choices

• Turn off community traffic anytime: Crew, then Sharing, then Help the community.
• Drive together is off unless you switch it on, per crew.
• Leave a crew anytime.
• Delete your account and data: email us at the address below and we'll delete your account, profile and crew memberships within 30 days.

Children

Vanta isn't directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We'll update this page if anything changes and revise the date above.
